Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh's associate Sanjay Singh emerged as the winner in the WFI elections. He beat former grappler Anita Sheoran.

Earlier, the United World Wrestling warned the WFI that if the elections were pushed back, they would be suspended.

Gauhati High Court on Sunday stayed the Wrestling Federation of India elections, which were scheduled to be held on July 11.

The father of a minor wrestler who had filed a complaint against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has admitted to a television channel that he has "corrected" the statement as he had filed a false complaint against him "out of anger". 

The minor wrestler's father said that they filed false sexual harassment case against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh because was partial against his daughter

According to top sources, Delhi police will be filing its final report on the matter within 15 days. "Within 15 days we will be filing our report in the court. It could be in the form of a charge sheet or final report," they said.
