Delhi Police sources on Wednesday said that till now no supportive evidence has been found to arrest the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh
Uncle of the girl revealed that the protesting wrestlers have been making a strategy to trap the Wrestling Federation of India chief in the false legal case. The wrestlers in the complaint against Singh have mentioned that the girl was minor when she was sexually abused and have charged Singh under POCSO Act.
Ahead of a march by wrestlers towards the newly-built Parliament building, Delhi Police on Sunday said that "unsocial elements" will not be allowed to enter the national capital to ensure smooth conduct of the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament building
The plea also argues that Brijbhushan Sharan Singh's character had been assassinated as a result of false accusations and actions taken by the accused wrestlers at the protest site.
India’s ace wrestlers including Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat, and Bajrang Punia have levelled allegations of sexual harassment of female wrestlers against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh said, "Ask the wrestlers other than these few wrestlers. Ask them what have I done for Indian Wrestling in the last 11 years."
