After social media backlash, a self-proclaimed yoga teacher, Ira Trivedi, who runs a show on national broadcaster Doordarshan, has taken to Twitter today to proclaim that she is a strict vegetarian and respects Hindu religion.
The guideline warned that "Christians must be vigilant against the fact that they should not be embracing another religion (Hinduism in this case) while practising meditation”
The Communist Chief Minister of Kerala pontificated on how none of the Asanas performed on International Yoga Day had anything to do with any religion.
Reportedly, the yoga center is functioning for the last 18 years and has been involved in a lot of charity works. Yoga guru Umamaheshwar Guruji, speaking to a local media outlet, said that the center uses 500 liters of water every day.
